Hawaii
Regional Cuisine is defined as a distinct
blend of the east and the west in the middle
of the Pacific Ocean. It’s the Asian
and Western culinary styles of Hawaii’s
ethnicities with fresh local ingredients.
It began when a group of Hawaii master chefs
(12 of them; two women and ten men) formed
an association to create a world-class destination
cuisine, and it's gone on to win numerous
international culinary awards. Marrying the
best techniques from Europe, Asia and America,
emphasizing fresh and locally grown vegetables,
exotic island fruit, and tropical fish like
Ahi, Ono, and Opakapaka - caught on the morning
you eat it - with tasteful creativity applied
to every portion of every dish. In August
1991, these chefs joined together to walk
the same path.
